New Truck Questions

I Just Bought a 2WD 2006 Ford Ranger Sport. I love the truck but am running into a little snag in the road, I want to know why Nobody (Autozone, pep boys, kragen, ect.) Shows the 2WD Ranger with a 4.0L SOHC Engine? Is this normal or did I just get a rare truck? Any input would help thanks!

a 2wd 4.0 supercab is a common truck. a 2wd 4.0 single cab is a Rare truck. Maybe autozone isn't upto date with the 06 line up

I think your 4.0 SOHC engine is the same 4.0 SOHC that is in my 2001. It isn't a rare truck. They just may not be up to date. What info are you looking for? By the way, Welcome!

I bet now he wished he had a Regular Cab 4.0, lol.

The 06 4.0L should be the same as the 04 and 05 4.0's. Except for some exterior junk your truck is the same as those model years.

Ok well I figured that it was it, I just want to know what oil filter I need, and if its a reverse thread. And on a side note I love my supercab and wouldn't have it any other way!! Hard to find 5-speed manual transmission with what I wanted though.

LOL it sounds like another of Ford's "forgotten" vehicles! They've been doing that for years...I remember once at a Ford parts counter, the salesman says to customer: "according to all the books Ford NEVER put that engine with that transmission" and then referred to it as one of Ford's forgotten vehicles, circa 1978 (and they're still at it)
