'97 Ranger Cam-does anyone make them?
I am thinking about building up a '97 Ranger and I want to know if anyone makes a cam for the 4.0L.
Also, I live in California and they seem to be real strict about their smog laws, so I want to know if anyone in Cali has cammed their ranger and if the smog people said anything. Also, how many ci's is the 4.0L? 300ci? |
245 C.I. I think they make a cam kit and a stroker kit for the OHV 4.0 liter (which you have) but I don't recall anyone on this site having one...

I dont have one yet. I am planning a new project and it would be my daily driver. I am just trying to make sure that I will be able to do what I want to the truck if I go through with the project.
It will take a lot of time in research before I start it and if I take a hit in my finances that's not good at all either. |
i got my cam on summit raceing

I'd swap in a V8 if I did anything. It's not really worth the $$$ to upgrade a V6 in our trucks.

Comp Cams make them for the 4.0.....they have a 410 cam and a 422 cam.......the 410 cam is good for a stock engine....the 422 cam is better/prefered on a modified engine (one with the stroker kit)......
