'98 4.0 P1309 DTC
Had camshaft position sensor dtc and P1309. Replaced the camshaft position sensor (and housing..was chirping) and cleared codes. P1309 comes back up. Camshaft Sensor is synched with Crankshaft.
Code pops up as a "pending code" about 2 1/2 minutes into key-cycle. After a second key cycle it becomes a "stored" code and CEL comes on. Once the CEL has lit the engine performance at idle suffers. I can clear it while driving and go all day without the code. Re-start and within 2 1/2 has thrown the code again. My mechanic tried reflashing the PCM- still get the code.
Any thoughts?
