How lame is this. exhaust cutouts

I love how quite my truck is. It's the only reason that is holding me back from getting a "performance" exhaust. I have an electric cutout that has just been hanging around in my garage for the last 2 years being a bored freeloader....Should I throw it on their? Welding is free. Do you think it would even get me 1hp + depending on what part of the exhaust I mounted it at.

Nah bro, more like +50 hp.
And then if you throw some under body lights on it, you'll get like another 75 horses bro!

If anything you might lose some power. Engine needs that back pressure.

Do you people know anything that you talk about? A new exhaust will help both in hp and in mileage. Put new exhaust and cold air intake on 3.0. Went from 20mpg in city to 24 and 25mpg highway to 28mpg. Truck runs smoother and quicker acceleration.

I'm going to ask you the same thing, Bro.
Most Rangers come with a cold air intake stock, all you have to do is take the Muffler out of your airbox.
If you put a butterfly valve in your exhaust line, in the wrong spot, you WILL lose backpressure, your truck won't run right.

Dude this is so sick. I'm gonna have to try this. That's why people used to put the underglows on their cars. It all makes scene now.

That's the thing I was worried about the most.

I was thinking about putting it right before the muffler and after the cats. (If I do it at all.)

Between muffler and cats will be fine.
Anything before the cats is a No-No

-stx, you even think it's worth the time to even weld it up and wire it really quick? Other than for the being annoying factor...Which I really dont want. just maybe 5hp that I wouldn't even notice would be nice. haha

Ahhhhh sad that I'm acting like I'm being sarcastic but yet we all know I'm serious. lol

unless your forced induction it wont do you very much good just kinda **** off people due to straight piping your truck. the turbo charger guys use a exhaust cut out after the turbo to create more of a vacuum to spool the turbo quicker and open it up more to produce greater power. for a naturally aspirated motor it doesnt do anything but be obnoxious and add complexity (unless your pushing serious serious power

You need to learn how to read. The OP asked about an exhaust cut out not a new exhaust, but thanks for trying.

yea screw it. I was gonna throw a volant intake in and jba headers with a x-cal 3 so thought it might help while still being quite when I wanted it to be. plus perform a bit better once I open it up with all that stuff done. I might just do it for the hell of it. :-?

If you have it and it won't cost anything, put it on there. Could be just fun more than anything.
