i've never heard of them until i read Leo's info somewhere..i think hes got a SSD intake...

but i stumbled onto that site....so i'll be swoopin that part up...

oh, it says on the site that it'll only accomodate a filter with an overall inner diamter of 3.75"....my filter's i.d. = 2.75...........? should it stil fit with some modification of the ruber adaptors?

What are you crying over? First no one claimed to originate the idea there, they actually credited TRS:
"First of all, I don’t want to be accused of plagiarism so here is a link to an intake MAF adapter I found when researching this mod; http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/airintake.htm"

So why don't you read it before you just start running your mouth.

Do you really think TRS even was the first to EVER make a MAF adapter out of PVC?

As for SSD, they have great customer service and I have the intake and adapter on my 3.0. It fits nicely, looks good and provided some increases in performance.

So why send people to second-hand info instead of sending them to the original? Not only the original but a place with more how-to's than GE will probably ever have. Plus I hate the GE software :)

I doubt it's second hand...more like second hundred. I wasn't aware of pissing matches between forums. Who cares who has more? There is a lot of information on all of the forums out there for Rangers. Not all of them were the original creators, but a lot of what gets posted is a carry over from another forum. Someone learned something somewhere shared it with someone who took it somewhere and shared it with others and so on. I dont think the person who learned about it on the 5th forum it visited cares it was posted on 4 forums previous to that. They might not even be aware that there are 4 other Ranger forums out there. Actually there are more. If you have a preference, great, but there's no need to bash any of them. That's how problems arise and people start to get biased opinions on other sites.

Obviously most how-to's are 400th hand info. And I'm not putting one forum vs another. Personally I enjoy a lot of info in one place and I would like to be sent to the library of congress instead of library of bumf*ck. I don't like GE's software but for certain things it can't be beat. TRS is superior for certain things RPS for others, here for others. All sites are valuable regardless of how big the how-to section is or anything else.
All I was saying is if I was new to modding or interested in seeing what could be done I would gain more info from the tech library at TRS than the how-to section of GE, or here, or RPS. And if the how-to at GE is going to link to TRS anyway why not skip the middleman (GE) and go straight to the tech library.
Again, I don't care who likes what site or what other site blah blah I'm not interested in forum drama. This is my home but for offroad and tech info I go to TRS. I use GE mainly for meet information because I can't stand the forum color scheme or the software used. Personaly preference but whatever...

I hear ya...it may have been the case above where the user here didnt know of TRS and knew of the GE posting. So he suggested them. And in there is a link to TRS in the GE post to show they werent "stealing" it, since that apparently is an issue. I think it's more to show respect and give recognition to them finding it there and sharing it with GE members who arent on TRS. I know I am a member on a lot of forums, too many to remember. So I just stick to a few of my favorites as well. Definately all of them have their quircks as you mentioned, color scheme or search functions whatever it may be. It's all good in the end. Just a bunch of people sharing knowledge and experiences about Rangers

*gasp* someone not know about TRS? Clearly I have work to do.... :)
Yeah that's a good point maybe they didn't know about TRS (and missed the link in the GE post) I hadn't thought of that. I just assume everyone knows about the major forums. Would be nice if we could all link to each other. I mean it is about getting info and support out to fellow Ranger enthusiasts and, as mentioned, some sites are better at things than others so I think it would be good to have other Ranger forums linked from each site.
I'm sure it wont be a case of "Please visit our sister site..." since between some forums there is a bit of history that can't be overcome. But why not something like "For more forums and info check out these other boards:..."
