AEM Brute Force opinions.

Might buy an intake and E-fan for my truck soon. I like the look and function of the AEM intake with the oil-free filter. It's going to be either that one or a MAC. Any thoughts on either? Thanks.

ive had great reviews from the MAC, just keep in mind that the quality of the kit is based upon how much you want to spend. even so, every mac i have sold, the customer loved.

I bought an AEM for my truck and I love it, Im not at my house atm, ive been on Vaca for the last two weeks, sittin up in Maine at my uncles house, Ill be home in a couple days and Ill try to remember to post some pistures of it.
But im very happy with it, on start up its a little noisy, but after it warms up it goes away, kind of a high whistle.

I use K&N but wish it was oil free, every oil change I do though I just spray brake cleaner on my MAF wires and clean them right up. My buddy owns a MAC intake and its pretty sweet.

I have the AEM on my silverado. I like it. On my truck it mounts real nice. The only thing I don't like is that to clean the filter the 2 bottles they give you with it are both required to clean it once. So that means you need two of them for one cleaning. That is about $10 everytime you clean the filer. I have owned AIRAID, K&N and the AEM and I like the AEM the most because of the mounting of it is really stout.

With the AEM you are have to use the whole bottle. It is not an oil it is a filter cleaner. I still have tons of k&n stuff left from all of the filters I have owned.

arnt they all jsut a filter and a smooth metal pipe?

i can see the filter making a diffrence, but the mac being 150 compared to the k&n being like 240 kinda makes me wonder if the k&n filter is really worth the extra 90$

thats not fair!! they had my truck over a 2 and half years ago for the OHV intake. They still havn't gotten it to market and I still don't have the one I was promised. last I heard the intake was done, they just had to do a final test fit on a truck and they can't use mine because I don't have a fan shroud. I told them I would go buy a fan shroud if that was all it would take to get the damn thing finished.

BTW the AEM kit has the highest dyno improvment number of all the intakes I've seen for the SOHC 4.0.
