Bama tuner - What exactly is it

Ok well I'm getting dual flowmasters tomorrow and soon a k&n intake. I'm looking for some power gains and have heard about tuners - especially Bama Tuners.

I've searched the site and havent been able to find out much info about them.

What exactly are they, where do they go, how do you install them, how much are they and where do you get them

These are the questions i have lol. Can anyone answer them?

Thanks!

Thanks Bob. I couldnt find that site.

Ok I looked through the site and there are a few options to choose from.

Most are around $300.

Which one is the best for gas mileage and performance? I don't know much about engines so Id want something easy to figure out

its a great mod, the mods youre doing now wont even come alive until you let doug get his hands on your programming. worth every penny IMO, i have one on my F150, and im about to get 2 more for my dads powerstroke and my wifes ranger.

what you need to do is contact doug, he can make any programs you want, he can make a good gas mileage program, peformance, different octanes, etc. most tuners take 2 or 3 programs so you can switch between them whenever you want. i have an 87 peformance program, 93 performance, and doug is writing me a 93 towing program. i have the Xcalibrator 2, but the original X-calibrator is ok as well. for the price, its better to get the second gen, it connects to your home PC much easier and has datalogging and CEL capabilites

Excellent. Ill be sure to email him. Thanks again Bob.

i would get either the Xcal or Xcal 2, one is 325 and one is 400. BUT to connect the Xcal to your computer, you need a $50 cable, the Xcal 2 uses a standard USB cable. so youre looking at a $25 difference, and for that, you get full datalogging capability and youre able to read and erase check engine lights. those 2 features can be used on ANY ford vehicle, while the actual performance program only works on YOUR truck.
