Bleeding clutch master cylinder
Bleeding clutch master cylinder
So I had to replace the clutch slave cylinder which evolves bleeding the master cylinder.
first off, the parts on rock auto are 125$ for everything from the clutch pedal to the bleed screw. Just buy that since it comes with the ridiculous tool to undo the ‘quick disconnect’ which is far from quick or easy.
in the end I chopped it off and replaced the line which is attached to the slave cylinder via a roll pin. Again if you had the whole kit for 125 it wouldn’t cost you 50$ for the slave and 60 for the line.... anyway.
you will not be able to bleed this system in the traditional way if you get a large amount of air in it. It gets stuck in the cylinder which is angled upward.
so I happened to pull the brake booster to do this but you could go through the wheel well. Disconnect the clutch switch, piston off the pedal, poke the boot out on the firewall, rotate snd push out the cylinder into the engine bay and turn that sucker upside down. Then fill it with the bleed screw open until you get flow.
reverse assemble then go ahead and bleed it like it says in the manual.
