A/C COMPRESSOR ALWAYS ON
A/C COMPRESSOR ALWAYS ON
I had to completely replace my A/C system: working fine now, with the exception that the compressor clutch is s constantly engaged; noticed when I was doing some work on the engine and with the heater on full hot it was still running.
Any thoughts/suggestions?
Thanks!

Year and engine size often helps.
The compressor in my seldom used 2005 4.0l did that last year.
With the engine off, I lightly and frequently tapped the center part -the part which remains stationary when off- of the clutch.
I recall 2 or 3 sets of 10 easy raps with a small, brass hammer...just to send some vibrations through it. It worked.
Since your hardware is new, might there be sloppily applied rust preventative or storage grease which hardened?
From the Past: My dad's 1970 Mercury 400-2V had a clutch which wouldn't activate.
The single conductor wire to the clutch had a "bullet disconnect".
You could reach the battery's positive terminal with the male (clutch's) end.
I touch-touch-touched it to the battery, and it freed up; never to malfunction again.
It'd be nice if you had such a wire to disconnect to see if yours would disengage.
