Cats or No Cats

I am getting exhasut this summer. I am looking at gettin dual flowmaster super 44's, with 2.25" piping, H-pipe, side exit exhast. I was wondering what would sound better with the cats or without. I've heard it sounds better but you loose power. Any other suggestions???

Thanks

First off, true dual exhaust on a ranger is pointless, just get a single inlet with dual outlets. And leave the cats the way they are, or upgrade to magnaflow universal ones.

You will get a CEL light with no cats. It won't ever go off.

thats not 100% true, you can make emulators but they are somewhat expensive.

leave them on...without them your engine will be too open and you will lose power, possibly MPGs. and if you do not want your truck to be as raspy i would highly recommend 2" piping instead of 2.25"

Eh. But he will be the coolest and fastest on the street. Who cares about cracked vales or flame shooting directly into everything.

i realize that but also, i don't know myself, but i think it comes off of the motor with probably around 1.75". also, that was with a stock muffler. a Flowmaster is a high performance muffler. so there for you have increased flow, which is why i recommended smaller pipe.

I like cats....
don't have to take em for a walk or anything. Just remember to empty the litter box every once in a while.

if you remove the cats be prepaired to do any and all of your trucks maintenance work yourself, because all licensed repair shops are required to notify the authorities if someone has removed a catalytic converter from their vehicle, due it being a U.S. govt. mandatory item to help with air polution.
