CEL light...
Possible a vacuum leak, don't assume it's not affecting the engine, its throwing a code for a reason. Even if it is just a sensor going screwy, that sensor is giving bad readings, in this case too lean, and the engine will be affected. It's definitely worth checking out.
Melted pistons, broken ring lands, take your pick. Overheating is another thing you should be worried about.
There's a hose that runs on the pass side of engine, front to back. The 90 degree elbow towards the front often tears, that was my problem. You can fab something up, but 35 bucks at the dealer will get you a new hose and elbow.
