my 2001 did the same thing until i started using amsoil full synthetic and then it quit. might work for you. i know if i didnt work where i did its like a 70 dollar oil change but i got it for twenty so i was thrilled!

 

well i think I get a noise similar. It started happening after I got my K&N oil filter. I think it might have something to do with the anti-drainback valve. Dunno. I don't have anyone to listen to it that actually could figure out the problem.

 

im about 100% sure mine is the starter. just need to find time and money to replace it.

 

You will have plenty of time to fix it when you come down here... We'll get it taken care of.

 

so whats the fix for thoe noise that seems like its coming from the fan?

 

that is prolly a bearing on a pully. take your belt off and spin each one. you will beable to tell if one is good or bad.

 

Mine was making this chattering, but its not there anymore? Go figure. My truck has multiple personalities I think...

 

clean the mud off the bottom and engine and most of your problems will go away.
