Code: p1400
 

I had my buddy run a code scanner on my engine because I had my check engine light on. He came up with the code p1400. He said it has to do with the fuel system and reburning gas that didnt get burned.

He said that there is a part that I can take apart and try to clean it with some brake cleaner so I am gonna give that a try.

Anyone ever had a p1400 before.

Anyone? Some one has had to of had this code before.

P1400-So, this could be a bad DPFE sensor (highly likely) or a short to ground between the DPFE and the PCM (possible).

So how would I fix this problem.

I would do these steps in order until it is fixed:

• Inspect the DPFE wiring and connector pins for any obvious damage.
• Disconnect the 2 sensor hoses and allow the insides of the DFPE to dry overnight. Reset the PCM, reconnect the hoses the next day, then try driving it again to see if the code returns. This will occasionally bring a DPFE back to life but not often.
• Replace the DPFE sensor. <--This is probably what will ultimately fix it.

so where is this sensor located so i can go to the parts store and replace it???

It's right on the front of your intake manifold. It has 2 small hoses attached to it and 2 bolts holding it on. It's easy to change, but if you plan on changing the hoses, which I would recommend while you are at it, they are a pain because it is hard to reach where they attach on the other end.
