compresion test #'s

96 4.0 ohv motor

these compression #'s (in psi) tests were taken today. these #'s are from the dry test going cylinders one through six 190, 180, 175, 180, 190, and 180. these are from the oil shot test going cyliners one through six 195, 185, 180, 185, 185, and 190.

the engine was at WOT, all plugs removed, and a tea spoon shot of oil was injected in to each cylinderafter the first round. one other thing this motor was not at operation temp this is due to the fact that the motor is sitting on a pallet.

what are your thoughts on these numbers? what should this motor be pushing in psi? is this motor in fairly good condition?

thank you

sounds good to me... you have one cylinder that is a little bit lower than the others, but not enough to worry about.

as long as they're all within a 10% range, it's considered acceptable.
