coolant leak

99 4.0 ohv is leaking coolant on the drivers side at the back of the engine. I couldn't see any hoses on that side. Does that mean a freeze plug is leaking? I couldn't see exactly where it is leaking.

Thats what i was leaning towards. Its rare a freeze plug leaks on 4.0's
the backside is exactly where mine blew, and when i took it apart, i had two other leaks i couldn't see.

There is a freeze plug on the head in that area, you will need to pull the intake to get to it.

You can use an inspection mirror and a flash light to verify. If its the plug it will leak all the time, if its the gasket it will be a waterfall when the engine runs.
