coolant leak from driver side front lower of the engine block
hello all-
i am troubleshooting a coolant leak from my 2000, v6 4.0 ranger, i lost cooling on the freeway at 70MPH, pulled over and had the truck towed to my shop. there was a lot of steam coming from the top of the water pump. after replacing the water pump (the pump was rattling and the old gasket was blown) i began to put new coolant into the truck when i saw the leak from the driver side front lower side of the engine block. i do not have an indication of a blown head gasket. the exhaust and the oil in the truck do not give indication of that. could it be a freeze plug? it looks like there are engine mount bolts that the leak could be coming from. any help would be great! thank you.
update. Took it to a shop, they are saying it could be from the freeze plug. Will find out more soon.
