difference between the explorer and ranger 4.0

Hey guys, my old man is looking at getting an SUV so I was getting him info on the explorer and I noticed that the hp and torque specs are different. Rangers are 207 hp @ 5200rpm and 238 tq @ 3000rpm. Explorers are 210 hp @ 5100rpm and 254 tq @ 3700rpm. The other day I helped a co-worker re-charge his AC (explorer) and I noticed that the intake plenum is different than our rangers, it looks more like the old 5.0 intake that curves over to the right.

Could this be the difference in power? Because if its that easy, than 16 more lb/ft. of torque is a pretty good boost......

intake its better

that is all that is different is the intake setup.......that is on the SOHC Explorers vs. SOHC Rangers....don't understand why, but they are.....

on the OHV 4.0's there is no difference in them....

i beleave the wieght difference or towing or something idk i just remeber when dad was dynoing them and he said there was a difference

probably because of the extra weight the Explorer has.....since it has a full body and will be hauling around 2-3 extra people...

So where can I get this intake? I would like the extra boost, like I said, 16 more foot pounds is a pretty good increase, aside from that, I think my other mods may help that too!

Hey Stone, got the hook up on one? LOL.....

Edit: So would it just be the upper intake? Or the upper and lower?
