Efan Question

How much better gas mileage should I expect to get? Considering my fan clutch right now is ceased so my fan is running constantly. I am getting 12.5MPG consistantly with the TSL's and Body Lift. With my 29" stockers and the body lift I can get 20 if I baby it but more consistanly will get 18. I know I will not see 18 with TSL's but 14 or 15 would be very nice and if an Efan will give me this I will have to do it very soon.

not a huge increase, maybe 1-2mpg

yea it isn't much, but every little bit helps...

2 mpg is what I was hoping for. that would move me up to 14.5 which is something I can deal with everytime at the pump when I do the calculation and it is 12 I cringe.

i love to see 12..lol im rockin it at like 10 now..blah..i gotta work on that too..had an efan but just didnt trust it enough to run my truck without moddin alot more then an efan to keep it cool

if you install e-fan for gas milage-i think you will be disappointed. if you install for performance only, i think you will like it. just my 2 cents. i have enjoyed the smooth shift with out the noise of clutch fan. :drive:

Install it to get rid of the terribly failure prone clutches for the fans in our truck and mileage and performance be hanged!

This is a "mod" that can vary in milage gains.

People who do a lot of heavy footed stop and go driving in hot weather will see the best gains.

People who do mostly light footed non-stop hwy/freeway driving will see the least.

And the rest of us who do a mix will accordingly see *some measure* of gain.
No matter what you do or don't see.. your *accelerating* less mass which helps free up power when speeding up.

I have recorded every sinlge fill carefully and will be putting my e-fan on here soon. When I do and have 4-5 tanks ran through the truck I'll report back what I've seen.

I noticed about 1mpg gain with my efan. It'll be worth it just to get that crappy stock fan out of there.

bryanjints Dec 12, 2006 06:15 PM

I expect some kind of MPG gain and the performance gain is going to be great. It really sucks having that thing run constantly. When the tensioner pulley broke and I had no belt the power was amazing.
