Soemthing weird when i turn the ignition on

Soemthing weird when i turn the ignition on

Ive Got a 02 Ranger 4.0 v6 4x4 with a k&n black tube intake, and everytime i turn the ignition on i hear something like a flapper close its more of a hollow sound and its just kinda weird ive never heard anything thing like this. i was wonderign if this is normal or what. anyone heard of something like this. It dosent matter is the ac is on or not thought maybe its something to do with vac

Did you just install the intake system?

it was on it when i got the truck bought the truck last week. so you knwo ive got to hear EVERY noise the thing makes.

Since i picked it up last week. I had for do the recall and the didnt knwo what i was talking about.

It sounds like your describing the sound the aftermarket intake makes. All intake systems that use a smooth tube instead of the rubber flex stuff will be louder than stock and make weird noises

Thanks man, Ive neveer had on on a truck just always had a drop in. i wouldnt have this one inless it came on the truck, shoot im looking for a 4.0 i can get the factory intake, it didnt have that much restriction. your running 33x12.5 on your truck do u have any form of lift? just the cranked t bars?

Lol I have cranked t-bars and rear shackles. Drives real good still and does awesome off road but I have to be careful not to flex the rear too much or the tires grab the fenders. I need to body lift it

Ya that's a better choice. I was planning on a lift of some sorts and I needed big tires for ground clearance cause I wheel a lot
