engine light is on
engine light is on
My 09 Ranger just through out a check engine light with no noticeable issues occurring. Gas cap is fine, I disconnected the battery but the light remained on.
Anything else I can look for guys?

Yes????
Do you have an OBD code reader?
If so, plug it in, read the code(s) and tell us here.
The first thing to do is note the mileage and erase any codes. This should turn the "check engine" light off.
What you do then is keep the reader with you and note any codes as they come up in the future...then erase them.
Often, knowing the recurrence of codes is helpful.

Just about any auto parts store offers free CEL reading anymore. Stop by one and see what its spitting out. If your not noticing any drivability issues, you may be having an emissions code for a downstream O2 sensor or a small vacuum leak. Easiest way to tell is to stop by somewhere and have the code(s) read.
