Icon5 Engine RPMs... Invisible wall???

So, this has happened twice now, both times shortly after being parked.

While in gear and accelerating down the road, at maybe 20MPH the engine revs will hit 3000 and fall down and rise up, like a balloon bouncing off of the ceiling.

If i try to accelerate more it feels starved, like my last car when its fuel pump went.

Both times it was solved by momentarily shifting into N and back into D off the throttle.

No other engine roughness, idle is silky smooth, good power, and shifts are smooth.

Any help is appreciated, I'm new to Rangers and not all that familiar with the exact setup.

Nothing I can do to check what you guys say right now, as the truck is in the body shop for about two weeks. (tail got out on a wet road and I spun out and into a guardrail And, to make it worse I've only had it for a month and a half just put the plates on last night.)

BUT... I want to get ahead of this problem so if yall can point me in the right direction I'd Really appreciate it

Yeah, I think so. I know its limited, not exactly sure where at though. 3k sounds about right.

How is the rev limiter engaged when the trans is in N or P? Is it vacuum or electrical or mechanical, or what?

Makes me wonder if the cable is out of adjustment or the DTR is going bad.
