Icon5 Test Pipe

Does anyone know of someplace that makes test pipes and O2 eliminators to replace the cat converters?
I think mine are plugging up and $350 is quite a bit more than I can spend right now. Iowa dosn't do inspections so thought a test pipe will be much cheaper.

Thanks

if its an ohv motor and only has 2 cats get a broom handle or metal pipe and shove it threw the plugged cat braking all the honey comb stuff out and you have your "test pipe" with your o2s still "some what working" at least that the my (redneck) way to fix that problem

A broom handle won't knock the media out of that cat. A pipe and hammer will though.

OP, you can buy aftermarket cats for around $80 I think.. Google it, and select "shopping" results through Google.

if you nock out the material inside you will throw a CEL.

yea, you can get aftermarket cats, but then you have to cut them out and weld in the new ones. I guess it's not a big deal, but I'd rather have something that bolts right in instead of jacking around with welding....

You're looking for a straight through section of pipe to replace the cat in your exhaust system, but now you're saying you'll make the truck throw a code by knocking the media out of the cat? lol

I guess I'm not sure what this picture means but it's obviously a shot against me.

Why I'm not sure either. I know you think it's funny that I complain about poking a hole in the cat's and throwing a cell but if you would have been observant enough to read the post I started this thread with you would have noticed that I also asked for an O2 eliminator.
Sop, since you were not smart enough to fill in the blanks yourself let me spell it out for you.
Poking a hole in the cat's is fine if I have an O2 eliminator. Without that, any modification is going to throw a CEL.

Clear enough for you this time?

And next time I post I'd appreciate it if you kept your dumbass comments to yourself. It'll keep others from seeing what a moron you are.

it's a 99. There's an o2 sensor right after the cats. I guess I can just unplug it and see what happens.

I think they might be plugged because the intake gasket failed a while back. All the antifreeze dumped into the engine and intake. I read that antidfreeze will cause cats to fail. Ever since then my milage has been in the 14mpg range. It used to get 19 mpg.
