Found BBK headers

When I first looked under the hood of my 94 Ranger I noticed it had some long tube headers. The previous owner did a sh!Ty job on the install as he put rtv to help seal them up, as soon as I saw that I put the hood back down. Yeterday as I took the P/S pump off, I found a BBK plaque on the driver's side header. I noticed that the headers have the EGR port capped off and the upper intake didn't have a EGR provision. I have a couple of questions. 1) what year Ranger stopped getting or started getting the EGR on the side of the intake (4.0)? I'm just trying to figure out what year range of engine was swapped into my truck 2) the 97 4.0 I just got has a EGR port on the intake, can the EGR tube on the long tubes be hooked up and pass Cali emmissions or are all long tubes for off road only? 3) what y pipe can I use with the BBKs? Sorry I don't have a part number or more info on the headers, I'm trying to find out more about them myself

my 94 doesnt have egr

My 99 has no egr. BBK headers should have a carb number on them, so you can pass communistfornia emissions.

If you have no CEL then you should be ok. Check your codes at an auto parts store before you go get tested.

Will do, I also found a little plastic case wrapped up in electrical tape hooked up to some vaccum lines with a little foam filter inside of it. Anyone know what itS for?
