fuel filter done...easy
Got around to changing the fuel filter in my '03 today. Though I'd need the tools but the green and orange clips just press down and the fuel line release and pull off. Even after pulling the fuel pump fuse and running the system out (by running the engine until it dies) you can still expect a little bit of a gas bath....yummy. 2nd shower of the day done...haha. It was the original fuel filter. Pretty nasty. If I can run down the Motorcraft plugs tomorrow (local dealer was out as of Friday) I'll change those too.

A gas bath is the best.

Yeah...good for the complexion....

With only 58K on the odometer, I was actually suprised how much nastiness drained out of that filter. After it drained out in the drainpan, I poured a little water in through both sides, shook it up, and drained it back out...yuk. I guess being nearly 8 years old didn't help. I took it out for a test drive and the throttle response and overall power/feel was way improved. If anyone hasn't done this lately, its a must do.

i need to do this

58k is about right. I think the recommended interval for fuel filters is 60. I did mine about 25k ago and you're making me want to do it again pretty soon lol

Yeah, it was original. I just got the truck about a month ago so I will do it at least once every 20K or so from now on.
