Fuel injectors

Since I am swapping engines with no idea how the donor was run, would it be a good idea to go ahead and install new injectors? Donor has 138K+ on motor. I plan on replacing fuel filters anyways. If they might need replacing, I'd rather do it now since I have to swap the intakes anyway.

Anyone have a part # for a Bosch or Delphi? AZ here are very condescending to me cause I am a lady and Advance only has Carquest & Motorcraft.

You don't need new injectors, although many like to do that, just run a can of Seafoam or similar injector cleaner in the gas tank once a year to keep injectors clean

Fords part number for 1999 Ranger 4.0l injector is F87Z9F593HA

This page has a selection of rebuilt injectors: https://www.ebay.com/b/Fuel-Injector...54/bn_87397136

I prefer rebuilt because each one has been tested, by hand, after its rebuilt
New ones are just boxed and sent out with a warranty, lol, untouched by a human hand, except motorcraft, they cost alot more because each one is tested before being shipped

Just so you know, auto parts guys will know LESS that you do about your 1999 Ford Ranger, when someone sounds condescending its because they are out of their depth in the subject at hand, so insecure
Just be kind, and see if you can teach them something while they look up the parts
As Albert(Einstein) once commented, "until I can explain something so my dear old Mother will understand it, I know I don't understand it well enough myself"
I don't think he actually said it but still makes a good point, condescending = insecure, no other way to look at it, lol

I consider the AZ guys condescending because they have asked me if I want to check with my husband first to make sure I'm getting the right part. EVERY SINGLE employee has asked me that in some form or the other. So I decided in January to no longer shop them. I understand being intimidated by a woman knowing cars but at least a couple of the guys honestly know cars so they shouldn't be intimidated by a woman.

Thanks for the tip about the injectors. I'll decide on them once I see what other parts are gonna cost.

Back to working on this engine. Couldn't do anything over winter cause of cold and been loaded down working.

Anyway, how difficult is it to rebuild the injectors? I have 2 sets I can work with and I can get a kits for $14 with all the seals and basket to rebuild a set. I've done a Holley carb rebuild before to give you an idea of my ability. I know the listing says it doesn't fit but I think it's because of the details.

Not very hard to do

Google: DIY - How to install an injector rebuild service kit

Watch the video

First test each injector's OHMs, Fords should be about 13-19 ohms, if out of that range then replace it
