Getting slow..

I just bought my 02' Ranger about three months ago and it just feels like it's getting slower.. I don't know what's been done to it.. Where should I start?

first thing when buying a used vehicle... start a tune up.. spark plugs, all filters air yaydad, oil change, fuel injector cleaner, maybe wires depending on mileage, fuel filter.

after that... hmm do performace mods... pullies turner intake exhaust supercharger.. list goes on...

Maybe you are flooring it too much and you are getting used to the power.

Perception is definately a factor. Air temp (heat) is another.

But.. if you really feel it's down on power give it a tune up for starters. A decent indicator is you MPG. Are you getting good milage? If not either your foot is heavy and/or something might be amiss.

I have had that same problem with every vehicle I have ever owned. I think you are just getting used to it. Thats usually why people buy "crotch-rockets", the huge power is harder to get tired of.

Another way is to put on a set of stock goodyears and drive in the rain. It gives a whole new meaning to "steer with the rear".

All teh above and check to see if youre still getting WOT. Your T cable may have some, or even excessive slack in it. My old 2.3 88 mustang and later on the 93 2.3 ranger had slack. After the T-cable mod it felt like there was an extra 2.3L 4cyl in there. zoo.... ( get it I went from zo.. to zoo.. but not enough engine to get zoom, zoom, zoom.....). I am so funny. Handsome and rich too....
