Icon5 Glasspack + flowmaster 40........any sound difference

As ya know i put a glasspack on my truck a couple of months ago. Well I still had the old flowmaster 40 sitting around. So i put new 3" stainless tips on the end of in and sanded it down and repainted it with engine paint. I was wondering if i just kept the glasspack on and just put the muffler right after the glasspack. Would that be ok? Sound bad? good? I was just wondering. Its a si/do muffler and ti is dumped. The tips are about 6" long......

I'm sure the sound would change, i'm not to sure how that would sound? Maybe buy a clamp and try it out?

I dont see the point in running two mufflers but you never know. Try it and let us know what it does.

what i do to test things out it, take ducktape and wrap the muffler on the end and run my truck for 30sec. done it with the glasspack and it worked great. So I guess thats what I'll do.............again......this should be a good experiment.

They usually do this on cars and SUV's. The glass pack so to speak would act somewhat like a resonator, taking away some (or all) of the interior drone. I don't know though how it would work right next to each other. Usually on the cars and SUV's the resonator is in the middle of the exhaust and the muffler is at the end....

Glasspack will make your truck sound like a Harley. Flowmaster 40 will make your truck sound like it has a 5.7L Hemi. Check out www.Exhaustsoundclips.com

haha. thats funny, but im pretty sure the flomaster's wont make THAT big of a differance. i don't really like the sound of them. i've heard ONE on youtube that sounded decent to me. i would like to do some exhaust work to my truck eventually tho. maybe just a glasspack, or glassback as one of my buddies calls it hahahahaha.

Glasspacks sound more ricey and not very deep. Where as with a flomaster it doesn't sound quite like a v8, but much better.

Here is mine with a original 40 SI/DO
