Old truck was 92 or 97... don't remember... haven't gotten the new truck over 92 but I stopped 'cause of traffic, not a limiter....

there's is def. a difference between a limiter and a governor... when you hit a governor it forces you to slow down ('02 Focus @ 107, '04 Sequoia @ 117) but the limiter is just a brick wall and you can maintain it but you can't get over it

I usually say hard or soft governor for speed and hard or soft limiter for revs.

So on a govenor if it's set at 92 and you hit 92 it'll automatically slow you down or will it even let you get their? Then on a limiter like my truck it keeps the speed, but then stays at that set speed?

My experience with governors is as soon as you hit it it cuts the accellerator and you have to slow down. With the limiter I can maintain a speed but I can't get over that.

I don't have a limiter, I've had mine up to 118 mph, BTW it was NOT on a public road.

So in a nutshell, to some extent their the same in that they both hinder you from passing a set speed. 118 was that with a gps or your speedo?

Mine kicks in at 96 or 97... I've gotten up to 100 once but I was going down hill, thats the only reason why.

Like I said it wasn't a public road, it would have went faster but it got kinda shaky around 110, so I pussed out and stopped accelerating at 118.
