On my 05 Mustang you can't remove the limiter, so I set it to 250mph. oh yeah baby!!! Only does 140 anyway, its limited by aerodynamics and power.
On newer cars which are drive-by wire, the limiter will limit the throttle plate, and/or retard timing. You get the sense of sudden lack of power, which is annoying.
The Ranger has only seen about 85, screams pretty good on 4.10's and stock baby tires.

we are officially Electronically limited, which can be hacked/disabled :-D be nice if you could code it so that it limits at 115...and same as the guy above me my rangers only seen 85 and it wasn't for long b/c of the horrible fuel economy... speaking of that I wander what a Prius gets at 100mph...

Probably not, at least not for a good while(6-7 months). When I did it I was in Sebring, FL. I will be going down there again in 6-7 months for a job and if I get the time I'll try to get a vid for ya.

Hmm my speedo only goes to 85 and I have had it way past it like getting close to a full circle on my 4.0 I am not sure what speed that is but I see that most people are saying that theres stops at like 90-98 and I would assume that is higher but not to sure, or maybe it has been programed or something no idea its still a pretty new car to me

When you say governor I think of a rev limiter. Not a speed limiter. But.. they could be used interchangeably I suppose.
I think the stock rev limiter for my 06 was 6250 and the speed limiter was 96 or so.
The stock 4.0L really ought to be kept below 5800 and the speeds ought to be kept down as well. Afterall.. these are trucks and not sports cars.
