Adding a Knock Sensor

I have the SCT pro tuning software and X-cal III but the 4.0 OHV does not have a knock sensor and to take full advantage of increasing timing I would like to add one.

I came across this knock sensor on Summit Racing:
MSD Ignition 8964 - MSD Engine Knock Alert Systems - Overview - SummitRacing.com

I have a few questions about this though.
How do you mount it, I don't really feel like taking the engine apart and replacing gaskets to tap a hole?

How effective would an aftermarket one work?

Are there any other aftermarket knock sensors?

Does the white box mount to an OBD1 or OBD2 plug or is it it's own entity.
