Howdy Rick,

I take it this is a engine noise. Try to isolate when it's doing the noise.

Turn AC on / off.

Does it do it all the time or when you put the motor under a load. (accelerating)

Do those and then report back.

Rich

Rich,

It does it all the time. But gets louder when u acc. doesnt do it as bad or at all if your in gear and going down the road and just let off the gas. other than that its a constant noise.

Does the noise relate to the rpms, so if the truck is parked and you increase the rpms, does the noise speed up as well?

Do you hear the noise all the time (parked + driving) or just when your driving around.

The best thing you can do in this situation is take it in to get looked at and see what they wrench says then if you decide to you can try and fix it yourself.

Those knocks are hard to locate a lot of the time though

What are the odds of it being a lifter? Because I only here it when accelerating, and very little at an idle. If the truck is cold and at an idle you cant hear it till puttin gas to it. When you down shift or at low rpm pace you cant hear it.
