HELP! 98 ranger OHV idle & acceleration issues

So little back story couple months back my truck would misfire and lose power randomly on cylinder 1-3 but would clear up with injector cleaner. At some point I took the intake and fuel rail off to check the injectors and saw they were old and some were missing the little cap on top.

Two weeks ago I got new injectors intake upper & lower gasket spark plugs, wires, oil and filter and replaced everything thinking my truck would be like new. But after everything it started really rough wouldn’t hold idle and would just die after a few seconds. I ended up replacing the Maf, TPS & cleaned the IAC and it started idling a little better but still bad. I was going to uninstall everything and reinstall just to see if maybe I missed anything and BOOM saw i missed tightening a nut on the intake. I tightened it and the Idle was almost perfect it. However whenever I’d accelerate in N the Rpm would just tank after letting off the gas. I tried taking it for a spin to see if it was only when sitting and would go into 1st fine but once I went to 2nd it would hesitate to go into gear then kick in same with 3rd. & every time I came to a stop/ into N the rpm would drop immediately and it stalled.

Not sure where to go to from here so far no check engine code “since battery was disconnected”
Prior to doing everything the truck ran fine as long as I’d pour some cleaner every now and then….. and trans didn’t slip either…. Help need suggestions and can afford to take it to a shop rn

Welcome to the forum

"....and saw they were old and some were missing the little cap on top."

Top of injector or end of injector that's inside the intake?
Pintle caps can stay in the intake hole when old injector is removed and must be pulled out before installing new injectors

4.0l OHV lower intake bolts are only hand tight, 14ft/lb, so often loosen up over time, they are good candidates for loctite on the threads
