Uh oh

About 3 weeks ago I changed my fuel filter and a week after that I had to put gas in my truck from an old gas can. I got a check engine light within ten miles, and the next day it went off so i thought ok whatever. But it came on today when i mashed the gas to pass somebody. Is there a way to check the light without a reader. Im thinkin its from low fuel pressure the filter could be clogged slightly. Is this possible? Ideas?

No. You'll need a reader or have it read. Got an autozone nearby? They do code pulling for free. Ford will charge $60ish)1/2 hr). And you know you shouldn't put in old gas right? Like...how many years old was it?

Is the gas cap tight? It could be throwing an evap. code.

We have to deal with it at work alot because people let their bikes sit for a couple of years. We had one atv that had been sitting for like 6 years. I had to do the work outside the shop it stank so bad. The gas was like a jelly substance lol. I wanted to light it to see if anything would happen, but I don;t think so.

/end hack lol.

But the gas might have had some debris in it or water and clogged the filter. Best bet is like Shane said and hit up autozone.
