Hoses
In the south where temps are warmer and dry or extremely cold climates I would say 15 years is about if for rubber anything, moderate temps and humidity 20 years
There is no "advanced super-rubber", its called metal and it ain't real flexible, lol
Rubber or similar compounds dry out and crack, under the hood they last longer than in direct sunlight

Follow-up Q's
Listings of hose manufacturers include: AC-Delco, Continental, Dayco, Gates and Motorcraft.
All ring "good" to my ear. Are their any baddies in those 5 companies? I'm leaning toward Gates.
Also, the several heater hoses and heater hose assemblies are a tad confusing. Is there a simplified list of what a particular truck has?
