a 4.0? im jus wonderin cuz i have a bone stock 92 ranger with a 4.0 and wanna know how to get more power out of it.......i was thinking headers, chip, throttle body, injectors, performance wires, intake tubing not the actual kit cuz i have snorkel setup but the smooth flowing tubing in between the airbox and throttle body, and im getting the engine re-sealed cuz i have a couple leaks that have to get fixed, what else is out there and available for more power?

92 ranger 4.0v6
5speed stick
3"bl 6"suspension in progress
28" stock tires going up to 35's
stock gearing is 3.73 going up to 4.66's

ummmmm.....

The cheaper mods:
-efan
-headers
-full exhaust
-underdrive pulley
-K&N intake
-60mm throttle body
-upgrade plug wires
-MSD ignition

The Expensive stuff....
-blower (if you can find one)
-tear it down and bore it out .30 over
-comp cam shaft
-port and polish heads
-complete engine rebuild

i am sure there are a couple other mods out there........

They lighten the load on the crankshaft. When the crank pulley is turning easier, that's more hp that the other end of the crank to put out.

I'm pretty sure he has a distributorless ignition system with coil packs. I think that came out in 1989 or 1990.

There's a throttle trick, and that is to make sure the linkage is tight on the cable, dual exhaust
