Before attempting a repair, I would check with a Ford dealer. The EPA requires cats to be warrantied for 8 years/80,000 miles. If you are under 80k and didn't do any mods or abuse that could have caused the failure, you might be able to get a new cat assembly for free.
If you have something like a poorly supported aftermarket muffler hanging off the cat, that might give them a legit reason to deny the claim. (hint, hint)
