Icon6 I Was Bored.......

HI!... Well did a little tinkering on the truck today. Thank god for a heated garage! LOL! I didn't like where Ford installed the factory trans cooler so I relocated it up in the open grille area for more airflow. Why they keep installing these coolers behind the bumpers on their trucks, I don't know. My F-150 was same way. Relocated it also. I basically swapped the horn and the coolers mounting points on the rad support. Then fabricated up a support bracket for the bottom of the cooler. Did a few test runs tonight (meaning, beating the crap out of it, lol!) The tranny temps seem to not rise as quickly and not get as high. Engine coolant temps were unchanged. I then used S/S hardware. I did a bit of undercoating while it was all apart. Ford rad cradles are notorious for rotting out. Mine was already showing signs of rust in the seems. Here's a few pics :

HI!... I also worked on my CAI a bit. I enlarged the hole behind the headlight assembly more than I had previously done, plus I enlarged the rad cradle entrance hole as well. All was painted and then undercoated. This should give my CAI a good shot of airflow when the P/S headlight is removed at the dragstrip. Every little bit helps. lol!

HI!... I also ported the entrance to the stock TB. Got rid of the lip so the incoming air gets a smooth transition. There was a few plastic casting marks as well that I removed.

Great work on the truck! Wish I had a heated garage! My truck might actually be clean, etc! I would probably have my new lvl 2 tow hooks on, etc!

Well last time I was bored I cut the egr tube shorter since it sticks out and blocks the incoming air from the throttle body. I'm sure it didn't do anything for my stock truck. I just remembered a trick the Camaro guys do and said what the hell. May you should look into doing that. Take it out and see what I mean.

Nice work BTW.
