Well I am going to be picking up a 4.0 SOHC out of a 2000 ford exploder. My question is, are the engines compatible? I want to use this engine to do mods to so that I don't take my truck out of commission while I am building it up. My question again is are these engines compatible?

They are the SAME engine. Some xplorers have different upper intakes but the lower one is the same, from what i've read. The programing is also different but other than that mod that baby and than throw it in your Edge!!

Thanks Adrian! I can't wait to do this! I will hopefully be able to pick it up soon! I already have some ideas that I am throwing around.

Yeah it is a warranty takeout that got replaced with a new engine. Comes complete with wiring harness, manifolds, waterpump and all. Needs accessories for the front but I can transfer those when I do the swap :)

Also just got my taurus emblem ziptied to the grille today :) Looks good but I need to get black zip strips.
