I had the speed limiter raised on my Ranger as part of the Bama tune. I had them keep it at 100 because I should never have to go faster than that with my Ranger. I did hit the 90 mph limiter a few times when passing on a highway before I got the limiter raised. I did not like running out of steam on a two lane highway when on the wrong side of the road while passing.
I drive a race car and know how a vehicle is suppose to handle at speed. I have never felt my Ranger is unsafe at speeds up to 100 mph in a straight line. I wouldn't want to be cornering a Ranger at those speeds and it would be nuts to do so. I think the brakes would be my biggest concern at that speed and allow a big margin of safety there. Maybe all Rangers are not alike (shocks, worn suspension, etc) or maybe some drivers are just not comfortable nor should be driving that fast.
