I haven't been able to check the fuel mileage yet, i've only gone to work once today, where I am now. There is definately a power gain a few horses, get's torquier when you floor it. On the highway it takes less to stay at a constant speed of 60-70mph, at least it feels like that to me. I'll get back with the mpg info as soon as I figure something out, i'll have to fill up tonite.

I found the Proform 16" fan and an adjustable theremostat & relay kit on Jegs for $103.99

People seemed to speak highly of Proform and the price is right. My main concern is how the hell does this thing mount to my 4.0L's radiator? Will what is included be all I need?

I was wondering the same thing when I got it. I have the 4.0 and the new fan is about 6" smaller than the radiatior all around. First I mounted it with the supplied brackets on the top and zip ties on the bottom, wasn't satisfied. I used my skills, and took the old shroud and fit the new fan into it. It fits real well. I put the new fan on the ground, set the old shroud over it, only an inch or so extra space and the given spacers fit in there nicely. I drilled holes on the shroud where they bolt in on the proform. Bolt them right in. I'll try to get pics, i'm moving in to college at the moment but when i'm done i'll have some time.

The e-fan gave me a nice amount of noticeable power and torque.
Gas mileage, I got at least 2mpg better than previously. My tires are 31's compared to stock 29's and I never got my stuff recalibrated, so the mpg is off by a few, I probably got more than what it says. It's definately worth it.

I got mine off of summitracing and all of the necessary wiring was included, didn't need the brackets at all. You don't need anything extra.

Well, I ordered it up. This will be the first real mod I do for a purpose other than looks, lighting, or electronics!

I need to get some damn pictures of my mount on here for ya'll.

I also kept stock fan shroud and mounted my new e-fan INSIDE the stock shround, it looks good and added an extra mounting point. That Zirgo fan looks nice, I think my Blackmagic is rated for 2500 CFM so that thing is probably overkill but too much doesn't matter!

Just finished reading through this thread and doing some searching. Sounds like a great first engine mod. Added power and better fuel mileage.

Some questions for you all...

Is there a comprehensive how-to written up with pictures by anyone yet?

What have the effects been on your A/C systems, anything noticeable?
