I've been bit by the CEL bug... GRRRRR!
Ok.... I got code p0401- insufficient EGR flow... Also got lean bank codes po171 and po174... I replaced EGR valve, EGR Flow sensor and called everyone I knew. Still got a check engine light... My truck is an 02 4.0 with 42,000 miles... WTF!!!!! What else could it be? I have a cold air intake and the rest of the truck is stock... I'm taking back the sensor and EGR valve tomorrow and replacing original. Any Ideas?

My check engine light went off too and my scan gauge dosn't work any more! Damn can't check codes. Hope you can fix your problem.

Could your MAF be dirty? Are you using an oiled intake filter?
|
Did you reset your computer?

Electronics cleaner. Should be about $5.
I don't think it's your MAF, or you would get that code first. But try cleaning it and other sensors anyway. |

on the right side of your intake, there is a vac line that runs from the back of the motor to right by the throttle body, the upper radiator hose rubs on this elbow and rubs through. get a can of carb clean when the motor is running, idling, and see if the rpm changes depending on where you spray. spray around that line or remove it and inspect it and see if there is a problem with it. this would cause your lean code but im not sure about your EGR code, could be the DPFE sensor if i had to guess
