Jerking at stop light

Hi Ranger buds. Ive just recently purchased a 2001 v6 4L truck has been running fine up until a week ago when i started feeling this jerking while idling at a stop light. No problem on take off and It doesnt feel like ive lost any power. The truck still drives fine other than shaking for a bit when starting up (occasional) Any insight would be really appreciated.

Clean the IAC valve. Plenty of videos on YouTube on how to do it.

Welcome to the forum

I assume an automatic transmission?

Yes, clean IAC Valve, info here: https://www.explorerforum.com/forums...-w-pics.84220/

And also clean MAF sensor, once a year, this one is very simple to do

The 4.0l SOHC engine is what you have in a 2001 Ranger, and the older 4.0l OHV engine(1990-2000 Rangers), eat spark plugs
They have a larger gap, 0.054" and need it, but this also means a hotter spark so best to use Motorcraft or Autolite spark plugs if available
And use regular copper or Double platinum, never single platinum

Point being it might be a good time to pull a few easier to get to spark plugs and have a look at the tips, see what engine condition is on this new purchase
