Jet Performance Module

anyone have the Jet performance module on their 4.0? its not that expensive so i was wondering if it would help fuel mileage or horespower...

REUBER 04-18-2007 06:14 PM

i have it..it definatly helped torque maybe gained 1 or 2 MPG it made my truck shift at same RPM everytime.....not a bad investment...you will have problems with the truck for a day while it calibrates itself to your driving

IR0NS1N 04-18-2007 08:58 PM

I would go bama, jet chips are meh in my experience

wydopnthrtl 04-19-2007 07:24 AM

I too was interested in it because of the price. Buuuut.. considering that bama chips spends a bit extra time tweaking some of the finite things *and* you'll have the chance to change setting on down the road.. IMO it's worth the extra cost. Even if I have to wait a bit longer I think it'll be worth it.

does the jet chip kill the speed governor thing that stops your car from getting over 95 mph?

IR0NS1N 06-17-2007 06:24 PM

Yes they should. Everyone I know that has had them (including me) it removed the governor

EdgeFireFighter 06-17-2007 08:03 PM

is it a governer, rev limiter or a speed sencer. i always called it a speed sencer but wasnt sure the correct "termnology" for it. (talking about how my truck wont go past 3grand in part or N.

04blackedge 06-17-2007 08:07 PM

You mean speed sensor.

IR0NS1N 06-17-2007 10:49 PM

It would be a rev limiter that wouldnt allow you to rev past 3 grand in park or neutral. A speel limiter/governer is the same thing, doesnt allow a speed past 96 (well on my truck anyway)

it didn't remove it on my truck.

VicRattlehead 06-18-2007 09:37 PM

im new to this forum, but ive been tinkering with tuning fords for about 10 years or so. ive seen em all and for the most part most are just junk. im not going to tell you what to do, but ill tell you what id do. i find the nearest SCT or Diablo dealer to you and have them put your truck on a dyno, burn you a few files onto either the xcal2 or preditor handheld units. then just change tunes via the handheld tuner to fit your needs. lastly i think jet chips are JUNK!

dangelj316 06-21-2007 11:46 AM

I have a Jet chip installed. It has helped out allot, but i should have gone BAMA. I'm still limited at 93MPH, and i have heard BAMA has greater gains. Go BAMA guys, i think it's worth the extra money.

dangelj316 06-21-2007 11:47 AM

Anybody know any other way of taking off my limiter of my truck (93MPH)?????

EdgeFireFighter 06-27-2007 10:32 AM

what are somegood websites for like chips like the bama and the other performance parts for my truck.

with the buma chip you guys are saying it will remove my rev limiter, my speed sencer and increase horsepower and alll that? What is it like on gas? DOes it improve your MPG and how much it cost

IR0NS1N 06-27-2007 12:25 PM

it does improve MPG, check out http://www.bamachips.com/

Strider0O0 06-27-2007 01:13 PM

how much are the JET chips new? i forget what i paid for mine

ringer4x4 07-18-2007 04:54 PM

do jet modules affect partial throttle or just wide open?

IR0NS1N 07-18-2007 05:17 PM

Their chips are 300-400. I believe they affect the whole power band. Its basically like all the other tuning products out there, except they suck basically.

ringer4x4 07-18-2007 05:27 PM

i know superchips affect the whole rpm range but always thought jet affected wide open only.. not sure thats why i am asking
