Frustration

Hey everyone, you all would not believe the luck I had last weekend. I just turned 34000 miles and had a scheduled oil change at our local Ford dealership.... My truck ran great as usual the whole way to the garage, never a problem with it. Truthfully I couldn't be any happier with the truck. Started up my ranger to leave the dealership, all the guages looked good no noises what so ever.... I didn't even get to the end of the lot and the truck died... You can start it, then the truck immediately dies... Interesting I thought! So I went back inside to tell the guys what had happened. Oh yeah by the way this was on Saturday morning on a holiday weekend... The came out pushed the truck back into the garage and ran the scanner and everything else on it... The came out and told me an hour or so later that my truck had spark, had fuel pressure and no errors on the scanner.... They gave me a loaner neon and told me they would call and let me know what they have found. Well to tell you all the truth I had to call them, and they tell me that the MAF sensor took a crap.... I just find it a little hard to believe that the truck never had a problem ever and now after a simple oil change my MAF is bad??? Interesting.... So coincidental that the thing broke immediately after someone serviced it.... I was wondering though can a MAF do this sort of thing?? Also are they prone to just not working at random times? Thought you all would fine this story interesting!

the MAF sensor is an electronic part. meaning it will take a crap whenever it feels like it. so it could be just coincidence that it went bad when you had the oil changed.

Electronics I understand, I am a biomedical engineer--I work on medical equipment everyday....I can see coincidences, but with all electronics there has to be something that causes a total failure.... I just don't buy it....
