So I changed my last 2 spark plugs yesterday ( the first four were changed in september). it was the rear 2 on the passenger side. I didnt start the engine at all yesterday because I had the dash pulled out.

Today I got the dash back in and decided to take it for a drive to make sure the gauges all worked and such. When started it up it was idleing at 2200 RPM in park, so I waited for it to idle down and it went down to 1800 RPM after about 15 seconds. So I put it in reverse and back it out of the drive way and its still running really fast. I drive down the road and with barely any pressure on the pedal it was running at 3000 RPM. So I shut it down at a stop sign and fire it back up and it does the same thing. I drive home pull it into the garage, hop out and theres a burning smell. I quick pop the hood and start sniffing around and its comming from right behind the alternator but it isnt the alt. There was no smoke.

I know all my wires are in tight, and the engine isnt shaking or anything weird besides it running fast.

Anyone got any ideas on whats wrong?
