Constant misfire

'92 Ranger developed a constant misfire at 45 mph when in high gear. Anyone have any ideas?

So.. it sounds like you have a misfire under load? Can you reproduce this in a lower gear / heavy throttle?

If so.. I'd think you have a weak spark.

If it won't let you get over 45 mph it may be a clogged cat. I had that happen. It felt like a missfire and wouldn't let me get past a specific speed.
