MIL Eliminators
 
Where can you get MIL eliminators for a 2006 ford ranger fx4 with a 4.0? Been looking online and seen several of them but wasn't sure if each vehicle had different ones.

"MIL eliminator" is usually a by-pass used when CATs are are removed, so its not really the right name for them
MIL, malfunction indicator light, AKA CEL, check engine light, comes on when computer has seen a problem and sets a code, ANY PROBLEM, not just O2 issue

Yes, if they say they will work for narrow band(regular) Ford O2 sensors, then they will work on 1983-2011 Ranger
Not sure how well they work, but that wouldn't be Ranger/computer issue, it would be a modified O2 sensor issue

That's for the reply. Been busy as a beaver during the flood season trying to get pasture spray for weeds. Do you know of any company that you could recommend that's makes them? I have been looking online and see a wide range of prices of them and don't want to pay for something that want work. This little ranger is my ranch truck and has all my tools on it. What really surprised me is how strong it is when it's running right. Last fall I was harvesting pecans and had to use it to pull a 16 foot trailer load with pecans. I had around 8 or 9 thousand pounds on it and needed to bring it to my barn. So I hook it up to it and drove slowly to my barn. It pulled it pretty good but I sure wouldn't pull it far. Poor springs on it was bent down but when I jack it off the truck them came back the way they was.

But if eliminating CATs for farm use why would you care that the CEL/MIL was on?
That code shouldn't effect performance

You can get a $15 OBD2 bluetooth reader and clear any codes as needed or to see if other codes, besides rear O2 codes, has come up

The motor runs fine but when you give it fuel while driving it it makes a popping sound coming from the catalyst converter. I had to clean out the converters a while back because they got stop up. I was told that if I don't run at higher rpms the converters will keep stopping up so that why I knock all the stuff out of them. Most of the time I don't get over 1,500 rpms. Plus I was also worried about catching my pasture on fire when they did get hot. I was hoping the eliminators would stop the popping and get the HP back like it used to have. I got spark plug non foulers on the upstream sensors. I am lost in trying to figure this truck out to make it run like it used to and was hoping the eliminators would work.

I don't know what those are but put in proper O2 sensors, they need to be changed every 100k miles or 12 years which ever comes first

The popping is from a misfire not the Cats
When a cylinder misfires none of the gasoline or air is burned, it gets dumped into exhaust manifold and the next FIRING cylinder's HOT exhaust ignites it and "pop", a back fire in the exhaust system

So poor running issues may have been from clogged exhaust, but not now, if Cats and muffler are clear

Rich running can be caused by old O2 sensors, they show a FALSE LEAN so computer adds more fuel than needed

2006 with bad Cats usually means the engine has had problems for a few YEARS, burning oil is the worst for Cats, kills them pretty quick

Could be bad fuel pressure regulator(FPR) in the gas tank, pump can generate 90psi fuel pressure, you need 55psi, FPR sets that pressure, but long shot on this one

Clean MAF sensor, once a year

Get the OBD2 reader and see what it tells you
