OEM Magnaflow vs Under body dump Magnaflow

Hello Ranger Forum

I'm having trouble deciding which exhaust to go with. It will be Magnaflow I just can't decide between the OEM style exit and the Off Road Series that dumps in front of the rear tire under the truck.

Is there a big difference in sound? I want to hear it but not drive me crazt on commutes at light throttle. Did anyone find a difference in performance?

I was thinking OEM but the Off Road Series is cheaper. Anyone know of a cheap place to buy this in Southern Ontario?

Magnaflow "Off-Road" System

I went with the Magnaflow "Off-Road" dumped system. Relatively quiet at idle but it wakes up once you hit 1500+ rpm. Noticeable when you are at 65 mph in overdrive but not too loud. Overall it has a nice throaty tone without being too loud or raspy. No doubt that the complete catback system with tailpipe would be quieter but I like the truck having a little extra attitude.
It is tough to judge the overall performance from just the exhaust since the truck also has a K&N and Superchips tune. I will say that the combination of all 3 (Intake + Exhaust + Tune) has made a big difference. It runs stronger than stock even with the lift and 33s.

I was just in the same dilemma a year ago, I finally decided for the "offroad", Sounds perfect for me and its completelly hidden what makes almost impossible to hit it when driving out of the route.

About the performance I think should be the same, Its more about styles: OEM if you want to show some chromed tailpipe, Off Road if you just want the performance without showing off nothing

it is, just jack up the back of the truck from the hitch to lift the bed away from the axle.

Yep - You can either jack the a$$ end up with a hi-lift and weasel it out or just cut the tail pipe at the back of the OEM muffler and it just slips right out.

I'd go for the Under-body dump simply because it's cheaper than the OEM style, or the Duals out the back.
