truck wont start

my brother was bringing a friend home from school, and a bus was dropping kids off in front of him so he stoped. once he stoped, the truck just died and wouldn't start. he told me that when he turned the key it sounded like it wanted to start but didn't. my dad is having it towed tomarow but i was just wandering if anyone know's what is wrong with it? the truck is a 2005 ranger edge 4x4 with only 3,000 miles on it.

thats weird, this is the 2nd 2005 ranger i've read about having this problem. One conclusion is flipping the fuel shutoff switch near the fuse box , next to the passanger kick (explained in the manual), but might as well just have ford look at it

Yea I think they are having trouble with the Inertia switches in the new trucks. That what cuts the fuel pump off in an accident...

See my 2001 just shuts off for no reason. But all i have to do is throw her back into PARK and turn the key again and she starts right back up. This happened to me again for thr 4th time on Saturday, 1 minute after I got of the highway.

Actually I had something like that happen a while back with my truck. It was a vacum line that went to the intake that fell off. My truck would sound like it was gonna start and if I gave it a little gas it was stay cranked for 2-3 seconds then die. This happend after I had just come back from a hour long drive.

i've found that this is not a ew problem with fords, mine did it and i drive a 91, my mothers windstar did it and hers is a 98, my cousins did it and ers is a 95.

it seems to be a problem with fords that i hear about frequently
