Changing stock muffler with aftermarket

I don't really wanna spend $400-$500 for a exhaust system so I was thinking I would just swap the muffler out for ohhhh I dunno maybe cherry bomb or flowmaster. I know I'll need to cut mine off thats no big deal I have access to saws and all that.

I'm not concerened with the performance aspect of it just sound. So if anyone has done this please let me know how it sounds and how it came out. Thanks

I have a Bassani lightning style exhaust and it's too loud for me. It really drones at about 60mph. I'd recommend a Turbo muffler, they are quiet when they should be, and loud when you want them to be. They are cheap though and mfg by cherry bomb makers. Some guys here like their Borla's.

My setup cost me $200........flowmaster original 40 off ebay for $60, and having it hung and new 2.5" piping was $150. Prices depend on the muffler shop....some think their stuff is gold, some give ya a good deal.

But if you don't want to spend that.....get a 2" side/center muff, some short pieces of 2" exhaust tubing, and make it work. Use a welded or just clamps. I believe the muffler length and the stock muffler are different lengths, so you'll likely have to add some pipe.
